The Atlas Foundation distributes turkeys and all of the trimmings to hundreds of families in need each Thanksgiving. In 2008, 826 complete turkey dinners were given out. The dinners were distributed through various churches and community service organizations to some of the poorest neighborhoods in and around New York City. One of the primary distribution points was the Dr. Theodore A. Atlas Food Pantry, located on the north shore of Staten Island.
