Legendary boxing trainer and commentator will be at the Hilton Garden Inn

A good read. A good time. A good cause.

That's what's in store for those who turn out on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the

Hilton Garden Inn, Bloomfield.

Legendary boxing trainer and commentator and Stapleton native Teddy Atlas

will be signing copies of his new book, "Atlas — From the Streets to the Ring: A

Son's Struggle to Become a Man," at the Hilton.

The $75 cost — a contribution which is tax deductible — will include a gift

bag containing a copy of the book; refreshments (beer/wine/soda and hors

d'oeuvres); and the chance to not only meet Atlas, but surprise guests from the

boxing world.

All proceeds from the event will go to the Dr. Theodore A. Atlas Foundation,

the charitable organization named after Atlas' late father that has provided

both physical and financial support to a countless array of worthy causes on the

Island.
